Calendar: Youth Programs at the
San Diego Zoo

Youth groups of every kind can have a great time learning at the Zoo. There are two programs to choose from (see below). Both programs include animal encounters and an opportunity to earn a patch!

A Science Lab with Dr. Zoolittle

This adventure specializes in action programming that's customized for kids who like to do instead of just see. The effort earns each youth a great patch! The first segment of the program begins with Dr. Zoolittle doing some amazing hands-on science full of laughs and fun. All of his activities connect science experiments to wildlife concepts. This unique format makes learning science an unforgettable experience!

Why just watch? After Dr. Zoolittle demonstrates some hands-on experiments, participants will take part in a 30-minute lab with a Zoo educator, doing their own experiments. The program concludes with a visit to the Children's Zoo for a private animal presentation.

Explore the Zoo: An Insider's Tour

Youth groups get the chance to see the San Diego Zoo from an insider's view. A private guide makes it possible for youth groups to ride a bus and get off the beaten path. This 90-minute excursion includes a behind-the-scenes visit to one of our animal areas, two special animal encounters, and a patch for every youth participant.
