Kid Territory:Recipes: Gorilla Goulash

Gorillas spend most of their time on the ground, but at night the females and youngsters quickly throw a bunch of branches together in a tree to make a nest for a good night's sleep. Each night the nest-building gorillas build a new bed. Here's something neat to know: when people sleep, they sleep with their hands relaxed and open. When gorillas sleep, they keep their fists clenched, which sure helps them hang on in the trees!

Gorillas are herbivores, and bamboo is one of their favorite foods. But here's a dinner recipe the whole troop will love at your house!

Ingredients

1

 pound ground beef

1

 can cream of mushroom soup

3/4

 cup milk

1

 cup sour cream

1

 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1

 tablespoon ketchup

1

 package wide noodles

Brown ground beef in a large skillet and drain off grease. Mix all the other ingredients (except the noodles) in the same skillet, stirring as you go. Simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a separate saucepan boil the noodles, following the directions on the package. Drain noodles and arrange your nest on a plate. Top with the gorilla goulash. It's great!
