Ocelots

Ocelots enjoy a special relationship with the San Diego Zoo because they support the Zoo in many ways. Ocelots apply a large portion of their income to the popular Ocelots Grants Program, which allows departmental recipients of the grants to purchase much-needed special pieces of equipment. Departments within the Zoo are eligible to apply for these grants.

Ocelots also have the opportunity to volunteer their time for special events and to act as well-informed ambassadors throughout the community, helping to promote the Zoo's excellent work and goals for the future.

In return, Ocelots receive many unique benefits and privileges. One of the most popular of these is the opportunity to attend bimonthly dinner education programs, highlighting presentations by experts from different areas of the Zoo, the Wild Animal Park, or the Institute for Conservation Research. Ocelots also coordinate special events, behind-the-scenes tours, and new exhibit previews for their members.

As an Ocelot, you will experience an insider's look at the Zoo and the Wild Animal Park. You will meet key staff members and have many chances for close and personal visits with rare and endangered animal species through the education programs and behind-the-scenes tours. You will receive the Oceletter, a newsletter which will keep you abreast of Ocelots activities, and the quarterly Conservation Update, which highlights the latest research endeavors.
